The 2025 World Boxing Championship is taking place in Liverpool, England. The quarterfinal and semifinal pairs have been announced, and Uzbek boxers continue to compete at this stage.
Among men, 8 Uzbek representatives remain in contention for medals, while in the women’s category, 4 boxers will step into the ring.
Sabina Bobokulova will fight in the quarterfinals, while the other 3 female athletes have already advanced to the semifinals. In particular, Navbahor Hamidova can secure a spot in the final if she defeats Nien-Chin Chen from Chinese Taipei. Additionally, Feruza Kazakova and Aziza Zakirova will also fight for places in the decisive stage.
In the men’s bracket, the competition is even more exciting. Shodiyorjon Melikuziev and Akmaljon Isroilov will compete in the quarterfinals, while Abdumalik Khalokov, Fazliddin Erkinboev, Turabek Habibullaev, and Jahongir Zakirov will battle for a place in the final.
A particularly notable clash will take place in the 75 kg category, where Fazliddin Erkinboev will face Saidjamshid Jafarov — a former Uzbek boxer who now represents Azerbaijan. Jafarov won a silver medal for Uzbekistan at the 2023 World Championships.
