The central match of the 21st round of the Uzbekistan Championship was held in Tashkent with great interest. Pakhtakor hosted Neftchi at home, and the long-awaited match was dramatic and intense.
From the very beginning of the game, the hosts took the initiative. In the 11th minute, Aziz Turg'unboyev opened the scoring after a precise pass from Flamarion, putting Pakhtakor ahead. In extra time of the first half, a decisive goal was scored. The referee awarded a penalty in favor of Pakhtakor, and Igor Sergeev's accurate shot secured the victory for his team - 2:1.
Most importantly, this result ended the Fergana team's unbeaten away streak. Neftchi had been unbeaten away in the championship until now.
Following this victory, Pakhtakor reached 39 points and climbed to 3rd place in the league table. Neftchi remains in second place with 42 points.
