Sensational news from the football world: Famous coach Jose Mourinho could soon be announced as the head coach of Benfica, one of Portugal's most prestigious clubs.
The 62-year-old specialist has reportedly reached an agreement with the Lisbon club's management. This decision came after the club's paths diverged with Bruno Láz after their 2-3 Champions League defeat to Qarabağ.
According to CNN Portugal, negotiations between Benfica and Mourinho have entered the final stage. This means they are very close to reaching an agreement.
Interestingly, Jose Mourinho fired Fenerbahce at the end of August after their Champions League playoff defeat to Benfica (0-0, 0-1). Now, fate could bring him to the helm of the Lisbon club.
As a reminder, the renowned coach first headed Benfica from September to December 2000. After that, his coaching career opened great pages in European football.
