In the 77th minute, Danny Welbeck equalized the score to 1:1. The most dramatic moment of the match occurred during the added time by the referee. Welbeck scored a double at 90+10', and De Keijzer scored at 90+2’, sealing the game.
According to the statistics, Chelsea dominated in ball possession (59%), passes (450), and accuracy (84%). However, Brighton showed a more effective game with 12 shots, 7 corners, and three shots on target.
This result was a heavy blow for Chelsea — they dropped to 7th place in the league table.
