An agreement was reached between Uzbekistan and the United States on energy projects worth 3–4 billion US dollars. This was announced by the Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamahmudov in an interview with the “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel, Kursiv Media reports.
According to the minister, the projects with the US include upgrading equipment in the gas system, introducing new drilling technologies, and constructing gas filling stations.
- An agreement was reached with Schlumberger and Baker Hughes on modern drilling methods
- A memorandum was signed between "Uzbekneftgaz" and Gulf company regarding the construction of a CNG (compressed natural gas) filling stations network
- Air Products company showed interest in projects for coal gasification and raw material production from synthetic gas
US Eximbank is also expected to participate in financing these projects.
