The first resignation in La Liga...

Oviedo, playing in the top division of Spain, has officially terminated its partnership with the 48-year-old Serbian specialist Velko Paunović. According to the team's statement, the head coach and his entire staff left the club.

The club expressed its gratitude to Paunović, noting that he worked professionally and responsibly in a short time, and most importantly, led the team from Segunda División to La Liga after a 24-year break as a "historic achievement." It was emphasized that this path will not be easily forgotten by fans.

However, the start of the season, which returned to the elite, was unsuccessful: "Ovedo" won only twice in eight rounds, losing in the remaining matches. Therefore, in order to improve the results, the leadership decided to renew its subordinates.

The team is now managed by 46-year-old Spanish coach Luis Carrion. His last job was at Las Palmas, where he left on October 8, 2024. Carrión's task is clear: to restore order on the field, balance the game, and keep Oviedo strong in La Liga by increasing their points.

The fans will now await answers to questions like how the team will change under the new coach and how the transformation will be effective in the upcoming rounds.
