Uzbek weightlifters conquered the world in Norway

At the World Weightlifting Championships taking place in the Norwegian city of Fierde, Uzbek athletes once again made history. Akbar Juraev and Ruslan Nuriddinov, representing our country, won medals.

Akbar Juraev, competing in the 110 kg weight category, created a real sensation in the competition. He lifted 196 kg in the snatch and 228 kg in the clean and jerk, breaking the world record in both events.

Thus, Jo'rayev won both exercises and the overall standings, winning three gold medals simultaneously. With this result, he became world champion for the third time in his career. As a reminder, he previously won world championships in 2021 and 2023.

Our compatriot Ruslan Nuriddinov also competed in this weight category and showed a worthy result. In the snatch, he took fourth place with 186 kg, and in the clean and jerk, he took third place with 228 kg, twice ascending the podium.

As a result, Nuriddinov won two bronze medals in the clean and jerk and the overall standings.

Thus, Uzbek weightlifters once again raised the country's flag high at the international competition. Akbar Juraev's new records and Ruslan Nuriddinov's success were met with great satisfaction by the sports community.

Analysts note that these results indicate the steady growth of the Uzbek weightlifting school and the high level of training of athletes.
