Uzbekistan national team captain Eldor Shomurodov spoke about the team’s mood and preparation ahead of the friendly match against Uruguay. According to him, this match is important not only for the result but also to test the new head coach’s tactics.
“All the guys are ready for tomorrow’s match. It won’t be an easy game because the opponent is very strong. First of all, we will fight for a good result and try to show our own style of play,” said Shomurodov.
The forward noted that the team has many young players, and this game will be a valuable experience for them:
“There are many young footballers in the squad. Some key players couldn’t join the camp due to injuries. Therefore, this match will allow us to test the new lineup.”
Shomurodov emphasized that the team has just started working with the new coach Fabio Cannavaro, and each game is a new stage:
“We will try to apply the coach’s tactical ideas in practice. The most important thing for us is teamwork and confidence. Every player needs to find his place on the field.”
It should be noted that the match between Uzbekistan and Uruguay will take place on October 13 in Malaysia. According to the captain, the entire team is determined to step onto the pitch for victory.
