Uzbekistan national team defender Rustam Ashurmatov commented on the team's mood and preparation ahead of the friendly match against Uruguay. According to him, this match will be one of the important stages on the way to the World Cup.
"Actually, there's no such thing as an easy game. Every debate is both a test and an experiment. Our preparation for the World Cup begins with such matches," Ashurmatov said.
The footballer said that with the new head coach Fabio Cannavaro, the team is entering a new stage:
"Playing against a team like Uruguay is interesting and responsible for us. With the new coach, there will be tactical changes, and we will play with maximum strength on the field."
Ashurmatov also noted that it doesn't matter to them who the opponent is:
"It doesn't matter to us what their composition will be. The main goal is to show our game, to act decisively in every episode. We are ready and intend to worthily defend the honor of our country."
For the coaching staff, this match will provide an opportunity to assess how united the team is before the World Cup. Ashurmatov emphasized that the national team has found a good rhythm in recent matches and will once again play for victory.
