Head coach of Uzbekistan’s youth national team, Islombek Ismoilov, shared his thoughts with journalists after the friendly match against Turkey (0:0). He emphasized that these matches served as valuable preparation ahead of the World Cup.
“In general, these games were very useful for us. We tried different tactical schemes in both matches. After a long break, we’re playing on our home ground again — it brings both responsibility and advantages,” Ismoilov said.
According to the coach, it is quite difficult in modern football to break through teams that defend deeply, but his players are working on this style. “We are training precisely in this direction. We analyze our mistakes and strive to correct them,” he added.
Ismoilov also spoke about the team’s current condition: “At the moment, our team is 90 percent ready. We’ll complete the remaining 10 percent during the training camp in Dubai, where we’ll also face strong opponents to finalize our preparation before the World Cup,” said the head coach.
From his comments, it is clear that Uzbekistan’s youth team is taking its World Cup preparation very seriously. Every game and every match is viewed as valuable experience.
Thus, the young squad is aiming not only for results but also for tactical consistency. Their main goal is to perform honorably at the World Cup and proudly represent Uzbekistan.
