After the Super League Round 6 match “Neftchi” – “Pakhtakor” (0:1), the head coach of the Fergana club, Islambek Ismoilov, took part in the press conference and shared his opinion about the match.
The coach first of all apologized to the team’s fans and expressed regret over the defeat. According to him, “Neftchi” did not deserve to lose today. Ismoilov congratulated “Pakhtakor” on the victory and noted that the players did everything possible on the field. In his opinion, in football one moment can decide the outcome of the match, and exactly this situation determined the fate of the game.
The coach stated that the match will be reviewed and the mistakes will be thoroughly analyzed. He noted that there is no team in football that never loses, and every team will eventually suffer a defeat. Now all attention is directed to the next match.
To the question about the possible transfer of Rustam Ashurmatov and Igor Sergeev to “Neftchi”, Ismoilov answered that he does not have exact information and that this matter is being decided by the club management.
Responding to opinions about second and third tactical plans, the coach disagreed with this view. According to him, the second plan consisted of playing with two forwards using long passes, but they were unable to convert the created chances into goals. It was also noted that at the necessary moments the team played with only one defensive midfielder.
Regarding the substitution of Jamshid Iskanderov, Ismoilov said that this decision was not related to the player’s physical condition. According to him, after “Pakhtakor” switched to counterattacking play, the team decided to bring on a second striker, and that is why Iskanderov was substituted. The coach emphasized that this was a tactical necessity and that it was important to maintain balance in the central zone.
Regarding the absence of Ikrom Alibaev, the coach stated that the player suffered an injury during the pre-match training session and therefore was not included in the squad list.
It was also noted that there are no other injured players in the team, and all athletes are fully fit.
