FIFA has updated the compensation system paid to clubs ahead of the 2026 World Cup, Kursiv.media reported. Now, Super League clubs from Uzbekistan that send their players to the national team will also have the opportunity to earn income.
FIFA’s Club Benefits Program has been in place since 2010. Clubs are paid for players who participate in the World Cup. For example, at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, clubs received $10,950 per day for each player, and up to $153,000 for at least 14 days.
According to the new system, the total compensation fund for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, the USA and Mexico will be $355 million. Of this, $100 million will be distributed among clubs that released their players to national teams for the qualification stage.
The club “Nasaf” stands out with the most players. Abduvohid Ne'matov, Sherzod Nasrullayev, Akmal Mozgovoy, Zafarmurod Abdurahmatov, G‘olib G‘aybullaev, Alibek Davronov, as well as Umar Eshmurodov and Bobur Abdulxoliqov took the field in the qualifiers for the Uzbekistan national team as members of “Nasaf”. This gives the club the opportunity to receive payments from FIFA.
