The head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Fabio Cannavaro, has begun to familiarize himself with the activities of Super League clubs. On October 17, he visited Guzar and watched the match "Mash'al" - "Khorezm" from the stands at the "Markaziy" stadium.
During the visit, the renowned specialist also familiarized himself with the activities of the "Shurtan" club and its academy. Cannavaro spoke with the youth, observed their training process, and exchanged views on future plans.
Shurtan's management and coaching staff warmly welcomed Cannavaro. During the visit, he was presented with T-shirt No. 5 with the club logo and a scarf with the inscription "FC Shurtan."
During a conversation with the young players, Cannavaro called on them to be hardworking and disciplined. He emphasized that "the most important thing in football is enthusiasm and constant work. It's not without talent, nor without hard work."
This meeting became a great source of inspiration for the students and coaches of the "Shurtan" academy. The youth had the opportunity to take a picture with the world champion and listen to his advice.
Recall that Fabio Cannavaro was appointed head coach of the Uzbekistan national team in October 2025. Its main goal is to adequately prepare the team for the World Cup group stage and establish close cooperation with the local football infrastructure.
Cannavaro's visit to the Shurtan academy indicates that he has begun to pay serious attention to the development of youth football in the country. This visit was also the first practical step towards strengthening cooperation with local clubs.
