Super League regulations are being updated: Results of the 4-hour discussion

On October 20, a meeting was held with the participation of the heads of Uzbekistan’s professional football clubs. The discussion focused on several key issues related to the 2026 season.

Currently, Uzbekistan has 17 clubs that have obtained an AFC license. Of these, 16 are Super League participants. Among the Pro League clubs, only "Lokomotiv" has met the licensing requirements. Therefore, the League organized the meeting with their participation.

A week earlier, the League had presented the “Super League Regulations-2026” project to professional clubs. It includes several significant additions. During yesterday’s four-hour session, the League and the clubs reached a number of agreements. Certain provisions of the regulation will now be reviewed with the participation of the Association, after which its final version will be approved.

The meeting addressed the following topics:
• The 2026 Super League calendar;
• A new draw mechanism;
• Establishment of VAR centers at stadiums;
• Maintenance and technical support of arenas;
• Football academies under the clubs;
• Registration of youth players;
• Cooperation with companies analyzing player movement and physical performance;
• Increasing match intensity, combating “anti-football,” and improving net play time;
• Match broadcasting;
• Disciplinary committee;
• Stadium working group;
• Discussion of the “Super League Regulations.”

All discussed topics will be fully documented, and the League will continue to refine key decisions and clarify issues that caused debate. Any updates will be published on the League’s official platforms.

It was noted that the reforms of the Super League in Uzbek football are becoming increasingly practical ahead of the new season.
