On the eve of the 9th round of the Premier League, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, speaking about his team at a press conference, reacted to comments made by Liverpool manager Arne Slot a week ago.
As a reminder, Slot described the opponent as "a team that plays on a low block and relies on long passes" after the 1-2 defeat against "MU." These words became the center of discussions about English football.
Amorim, in response to these comments, said: "What's Arne Slot is completely irrelevant to me. Everyone can talk about my team as much as they want, but it doesn't affect my work. For me, the most important thing is to analyze the game and find out what needs to be improved.
In football, sometimes you play in your own style, and sometimes you have to adapt to the opponent. I know my team well and don't feel the need for someone to judge it from the outside. Amorim's statement put an end to criticism surrounding his last match with Liverpool. In his opinion, in football, not words, but the result and the quality of the game are decisive.
The specialist also noted that the atmosphere within the team is positive, and the players aim to respond to recent defeats on the field. "We perceive every game as a test. The most important thing in football is stability and confidence. We have these two aspects," Amorim said.
