
The World Taekwondo WT Championships for adults have concluded in Wuxi, China. The prestigious competition, which lasted seven days, was attended by taekwondo masters from more than 150 countries and about 1000 athletes. The national team of Uzbekistan, led by Pavel Khan, also worthily participated in this world championship and represented our country at a high level.
Athletes from Uzbekistan finished the competition with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal. This result is a great achievement for the country's taekwondo school.
Gold medalist:
- Najmiddin Kasimkhodzhiev (-74 kg) - in the final of the world championship, he defeated serious opponents and won a gold medal. Thus, Najmiddin became the second Uzbek male taekwondo athlete to win gold at the World Championship. His victory was a glorious result not only for personal, but also for national sports.
Silver medalist:
- Svetlana Osipova (+73 kg) - one of the leaders of our national team, who ascended the podium of the world championship for the third time. Its stable results and experience play an important role in the development of women's taekwondo in Uzbekistan.
Bronze medalist:
- Our young athlete Jahongir Khudoyberdiyev (-54 kg) became a medalist at his first World Championship. This was a big step for his future career, demonstrating his great potential.
According to the Taekwondo WT Association of Uzbekistan, this championship was valuable for the team not only in terms of medals, but also in terms of experience. During the competition, the national team competed against representatives of different schools and styles, testing new tactical approaches.
As the Association's leadership noted, these results are the result of the attention paid to taekwondo in the country and the conditions created for the younger generation of athletes. The national team has set a goal for the future - to achieve high results at the Asian and Olympic Games.
Thus, the competition in China became a great source of inspiration for the Uzbekistan national team. Our athletes have proven their strong competitiveness on the world stage. We wish them continued success in this endeavor and the achievement of new heights.
