Gary O'Neil is in active negotiations to return to Wolverhampton as the club's head coach. This was reported by The Telegraph.
The specialist was dismissed by the club last December, but he is now considered the main candidate to return. Currently, O'Neil is a free agent, having not signed a contract with any club.
Wolverhampton is also considering other options, including former Middlesbrough player and head coach Rob Edwards, who is also on the list of candidates. However, O'Neil's return is seen as the most likely scenario.
"I love football. I enjoy being busy, taking on many challenges and duties.
When a new challenge arises, I will not only be ready, but I will approach such tests with all my passion," O'Neil previously said in an interview with this publication. Wolverhampton is at the bottom of the EPL standings, having collected just 2 points from 10 matches.
