New information has emerged about Russian football's return to international competitions. According to Sport Baza, FIFA and UEFA may allow the Russian women's national team to participate in the World Cup qualification round in February 2026.
This is expected to be the first step in lifting the ban on Russian football. If this decision does not provoke a strong negative reaction from European countries, the next stage plans to allow youth and junior national teams to return to international competitions.
It should be reminded that since February 2022, Russian clubs and national teams have been suspended from participating in international competitions.
