From January 27 to February 7, 2026, the final stage of the Asian Futsal Cup will be held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. According to the results of the draw ceremony, the Uzbekistan national team took place in Group "C."
Islam Akbarov's team will play against the national teams of Japan, Tajikistan, and Australia in the group stage. Each of these opponents is known as an experienced and fighting team on its continent, so the matches are expected to be intense.
The Asian Cup not only determines the continent's strongest team, but is also of great importance as a qualifying tournament for the 2026 Futsal World Cup. Therefore, the outcome of each game will be decisive.
The final stage will be held at two major venues in Jakarta - Indonesia Arena (capacity 16,500 spectators) and Gelora Bang Karno (capacity 7,166 seats). The teams that took first and second places in the group stage will advance to the quarter-finals and continue to compete for the Olympic championship title in the following stages.
The Uzbekistan national team has been recognized as one of the leading teams in Asia in recent years. It is said that the coaching staff is preparing the team technically mature and in a fighting spirit. According to the head coach, the goal is not just to participate, but to qualify for the World Cup.
