As expected, Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres was not called up to the Swedish national team for the November matches. This is due to an injury he sustained in the recent Premier League match against Burnley.
As a reminder, Gyökeres left the field at halftime in that match. Although Sweden’s chances of fighting for second place in the group are still very slim, they do exist.
For that, they need to win as guests against Switzerland and beat Slovenia at home, while also hoping for other favorable results. Earlier, sources reported when Gyökeres could return to play again for Arsenal.
There have also been reports regarding another injured “Gunner,” Gabriel Martinelli. Martinelli suffered an injury a bit earlier, during the previous weekend.
