Former famous footballer Toni Kroos commented on the sending off of Luis Diaz after his foul on Achraf Hakimi during the Champions League match between PSG and Bayern. According to Kroos, the referee should not have shown a red card.
"This situation is clear to me: this is not a red card. If Hakimi had simply stood up after the collision, no one would have reviewed this incident again.
In such cases, the referee should evaluate not the game episode itself, but its consequences," said Kroos on the Einfach mal Luppen podcast. Due to an ankle injury, Achraf Hakimi will be unable to play for about one and a half or two months.
Bayern defeated PSG 2:1 away. The Munich team have won all 16 games in the 2025/2026 season.
