In the second round of the U-17 World Cup in Qatar, the Uzbekistan youth national team, led by Islombek Ismoilov, faced the youth team of Ireland. In the first round, our team won a decisive victory over Paraguay, but this time, despite a good start, they couldn't maintain the result and lost 1:2.
In the first half of the match, our juniors took the initiative and organized several dangerous attacks to score goals. In the 20th minute, Abbosbek Shukrullayev put our team ahead and instilled confidence in Uzbekistan. However, the Irish players quickly regained their composure afterwards, with Grady Macdonell equalizing in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, the struggle on the field continued intensively. The Uzbekistan national team has repeatedly threatened the opponent's goal, but the shots did not turn into goals due to lack of accuracy. In the 75th minute, Irishman Michael Nunan scored the winning goal for his team near the penalty area.
The match ended 2-1 in favor of Ireland.
With this result, the Irish junior national team secured 6 points with two victories, strengthening their group lead. The Uzbekistan youth team remained in second place with 3 points. At the same time, Paraguay, having lost to our national team in the first round, defeated Panama with a score of 2:1 and moved up to 3rd place with 3 points. Panama remained at the bottom of the group, having not yet scored any points.
The next match will be crucial for Islombek Ismoilov's team. Our team will play against Panama on November 11, and this match will determine the issue of advancing to the next stage.
Our teenagers are expected to repeat their strong-willed victory over Paraguay and use all their capabilities until the last minute to get out of the group. The fans are waiting for a new victory in our national team's final match.
