The head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Fabio Cannavaro, arrived in Dubai, the capital of the UAE, along with the players under his supervision. This was reported by the press service of the Football Association of Uzbekistan.
The team will participate in one of the important competitions of 2025 - an international friendly tournament. The main goal of the tournament is to test the team's physical fitness and level of compatibility before the World Cup qualifiers.
According to the established schedule, the national teams of four countries that have reached the final stage of the World Cup - Uzbekistan, Iran, Egypt, and Africa representing Cape Verde - will participate in the competition. All of these teams are considered one of the leading teams in their region.
The national team, led by Cannavaro, held a training camp in Tashkent for several days before the trip. In this training camp, the main focus is on improving team play, strengthening interaction in defense and attack, as well as acting in standard situations.
The Uzbekistan national team will play its first match in the tournament on November 14 against Egypt. This game will be a serious test for the team, and Cannavaro's men will have the opportunity to show their potential against a technically and physically strong African team.
The day before, Iran and Cape Verde will play in the second semi-final. The winners of these two matches will meet each other in the final on November 18, while the losing teams will compete for 3rd place on November 17.
All matches will be held at the famous Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE. This stadium is known for its modern infrastructure and high-quality field, and has experience hosting world-class tournaments.
