Former Manchester United player Gary Neville analyzed Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz’s performance during the English Premier League’s 11th round match between Manchester City and Liverpool. Liverpool was defeated 0-3 in this game.
According to Neville, the German midfielder appeared weak compared to his opponents during the match and struggled to endure the pressure. The expert noted that while Wirtz is recognized as one of Germany's most promising players with a high transfer fee, he has not yet met expectations in adapting to the English league.
"This is a problem. We need to state the truth without hiding anything.
He was bought for over £100 million. It seemed to me that Wirtz looked like a child on the pitch.
This is unacceptable," Neville's comments were quoted by beIN Sports. In his opinion, Wirtz needs to adapt quickly to the high intensity of the Premier League and demonstrate stronger character to prove he belongs at the championship level.
