One of the Best Referees in Football History on Trial

English referee Howard Webb, renowned as one of the best in football history, has been summoned to court. The legal claim against him was filed by female referee Lisa Benn.

She previously officiated matches in the English Women's Super League. Lisa Benn is contesting her removal from the organization of English Premier League referees.

She asserts that this situation arose following a dispute in 2023 involving another referee, Steve Child. According to Benn, Child had used physical force against her.

During this dispute, Webb reportedly sided with Child, which Benn claims posed a threat to her professional career. Consequently, the matter has escalated to legal proceedings.
