Norway Halts Italy's World Cup Journey

In the final round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the Italian national team needed a victory over Norway with a goal difference of nine. However, the Norwegian national team arrived at Milan's legendary 'San Siro' stadium determined to dictate the outcome and deny Italy any such opportunity.

In the opening minutes of the match, the Italian team took the lead in front of their fans. In the 11th minute, Pio Esposito converted a brilliant attack involving Di Marco and Retegui into a goal.

Although Italy seemed to take full control of the game, the Norwegian team came out in the second half with a completely different strategy. Norway’s players, particularly in attack, actively pressed and placed Italy's defense under considerable strain.

In the 63rd minute, Antonio Nusa equalized the score. Then in the 78th minute, Manchester City star Erling Haaland scored his first goal, putting Norway ahead.

Just a minute later, Haaland struck again, extending the lead to 3-1. The decisive blow came in the 90th minute when Jorgen Larsen added another goal, cementing the final score at 4-1.

This victory secured Norway the top spot in the group stage and, for the first time since 1998, qualified them for the FIFA World Cup. Italy, meanwhile, will now have to compete in the playoffs.

If Italy fails to advance from the playoffs, they will miss out on the World Cup for the third consecutive time.
