Francesco Calzona, head coach of the Slovakia national football team, participated in a press conference following their match against the Germany national team. In their final World Cup qualifier, Slovakia suffered a 0–6 defeat.
"The match was very difficult. We struggled to play against such a strong team.
I am satisfied with the performance we have shown until now. It is disappointing to lose by such a large margin, but we have to accept this reality," the coach said in an interview with UEFA's official website.
"Defeats happen. We need to be prepared for a loss against such a team.
Now we have several months to prepare for the playoff matches in March," Calzona added. Germany leads the group with 15 points.
