Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe congratulated Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi on receiving a prestigious award. The Moroccan footballer was named the 2025 African Player of the Year.
In the competition for this award, Hakimi surpassed the following contenders: • Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah; • Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen.
Kylian Mbappe addressed his friend with warm words on his social media page.
"Love you, brother. King of Africa. Congratulations, my friend. You completely deserved this award," the French footballer wrote.
It should be noted that Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi played together for PSG until 2024, after which Mbappe transferred to the Madrid club. For reference, Hakimi became a Champions League winner with the Paris club during the 2024/25 season.
