Infantino Announces Expedited US Visa Processing

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced that he reached an agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump to expedite the visa processing for fans traveling to the United States for the FIFA World Cup. Currently, the processing times for visa applications vary depending on the country, and in some cases, it can take up to a year, such as for citizens of Colombia.

This is, of course, an unacceptable situation for people planning to attend the World Cup. Infantino successfully addressed this issue and ensured that fan visas will be processed more quickly.

However, as highlighted by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, this does not mean the visa applications from soccer fans will bypass standard security checks or be issued automatically. Furthermore, it remains unclear whether fans from countries like Iran, which are currently banned from entering the U.S., will be able to attend the World Cup.
