Marseille Scores 5 Goals to Become Ligue 1 Leaders


The 13th round of the French Ligue 1 saw a match between "Nice" and "Marseille." "Marseille's" aggressive gameplay secured a victory over "Nice," propelling them to the top of the league table.

The game started dominantly for "Marseille" right in the 11th minute: Benjamin Pavard sent a corner kick header, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang redirected it with his foot into the net. In the 33rd minute, Mason Greenwood struck from the penalty area, with the ball deflecting off a defender to result in a goal – 0:2.

At the start of the second half, Greenwood scored another spectacular goal from long range – 0:3. In the 58th minute, Aubameyang provided a perfect pass for Timothy Weah, who extended the score to 0:4.

"Nice" responded in the 63rd minute with a consolation goal by Mohamed-Ali Cho – 1:4. However, "Marseille" countered once again as Aubameyang assisted Igor Paixão, who converted it into a goal – 1:5.

The convincing victory catapulted "Marseille" to the top position in Ligue 1, pushing "PSG" to second place. Meanwhile, "Nice" remained in 9th position.
