Historic result in Uzbek chess: Javohir Sindarov reaches the final

In the World Cup semifinals, Uzbek chess players showed strong performance. Javohir Sindarov defeated Nodirbek Yakubboev in an Uzbek derby and advanced to the tournament final. In the final, he will face Chinese player Wei Yi.

Nodirbek Yakubboev, who lost in the semifinal, earned the opportunity to participate in the Candidates Tournament. He will play for 3rd place against Russian Andrey Esipenko. If Nodirbek wins, two Uzbek players could participate in the Candidates Tournament.
