Italy won the Davis Cup for the third time

The Italian national team won the Davis Cup for the third time in a row, defeating Spain in the final in Bologna. This result was recorded as an unprecedented achievement in the history of tennis in the country.
The match kicked off with a convincing victory for Matteo Berrettini - he defeated Pablo Carreno Busta 6-3, 6:4. The 29-year-old tennis player demonstrated his superiority with 13 aces.
In the second game, Flavio Kobolli showed real willpower. Despite losing the first set 1-6, he won a three-set win with a score of 7-6 (5), 7-5 and decided the final in favor of Italy.
With this, Italy became the first country on the European continent to win three consecutive championships. Previously, such a result was achieved only in the USA.
The Spanish team reached their first final since 2019 but couldn't withstand Italy's strong performance in the decisive stage.
