Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim spoke openly and demandingly about the quality of his team's performance and aspirations after yesterday's match. According to him, the opposing team seemed much superior on the field, both with a full squad and with one player missing.
Amorim said after the game:
"The opponent looked much stronger than us, both in the full lineup and when ten players played. I noticed that we weren't playing at the required level. They truly deserved the victory," the coach emphasized.
In his opinion, the removal of the opposing player from the field should have created an opportunity for "MU." However, it wasn't as expected:
"Actually, if ten opponents remained, we should have increased pressure on them in the attacking zone and seized the advantage. But this didn't happen at all," Amorim said.
The coach expressed strong dissatisfaction with the team's approach to action in the game, calling the situation a step backward:
"Is this a reversal? Yes. Especially when compared to our actions in previous matches. There's no need to think about the result - it's already bad. What worries me most is the players' spirit on the field, the decline in movement. Today everyone had to give up all their strength."
Amorim said that the team will go to training tomorrow, and all shortcomings and misunderstandings will be discussed in detail here:
"We have training tomorrow. Everything will be clearly discussed there, and we won't shy away from the truth," the coach concluded.
