In the fifth round of the Champions League, Norway's "Bodø/Glimt" suffered a 2-3 home defeat against "Juventus." Despite the team's loss, Russian goalkeeper Nikita Khaykin was named the best player for the hosts, as he managed to save 12 shots.
According to Opta Sports, Khaykin is currently the best goalkeeper in the Champions League this season in terms of mitigating goal-scoring opportunities. The Russian goalkeeper has conceded 10 goals, while the xGoT (expected Goals on Target) against him stands at 15.1.
It is worth noting that Khaykin (5.1) leads significantly in this metric compared to "Kairat" goalkeeper Temirlan Anarbekov (3.8), who is in second place. Meanwhile, the third spot is occupied by "Marseille" goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli (2.9).
In the next round of the Champions League, "Bodø/Glimt" will play an away match against Borussia Dortmund.
