The head coach of Copenhagen, Jacob Neestrup, shared his thoughts following the match against Kairat. In the fifth round of the UEFA Champions League group stage, the Danish club secured a 3-2 victory over the Kazakh team.
"I think we completely dominated the game and played very well. Our opponent was a team that had passed a strong qualification stage and recently caused trouble for Inter Milan in their match.
We played excellently for 82 minutes, but after conceding the first goal, the dynamics of the match changed," Neestrup said in an interview with *Tipsbladet*. Thanks to this victory, Copenhagen remains in contention for a spot in the top 24.
"It will be very challenging, but we need to proceed match by match. We have to take advantage of the opportunity in the game against Villarreal and secure something there," the coach added.
Following the match, the main topic of discussion was 17-year-old Victor Dadason. The Icelandic player scored a goal, breaking Lamin Yamal's previous record.
He became the youngest player to score in different matches of the Champions League. "Dadason's performance speaks for itself — he played brilliantly.
Everything is very clear. He made no mistakes.
Perhaps he should have been given an opportunity earlier, but if the result had been unsuccessful, the young player might have lost confidence. Three years ago, Orri Oskarsson participated in several matches here, missed chances, lost the ball, and faced boos from the fans," Neestrup stated.
Copenhagen currently sits in 29th place with 4 points, while Kairat holds the 35th position in the standings with 1 point.
