World Boxing - an international federation that is forming a new and strategic system of amateur boxing - has announced its official competition calendar for 2026. This calendar marked not only a new page in world boxing, but also another important milestone in the sports life of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan - host of the final stage of 2026
According to the announced plan, the final stage of the 2026 World Cup will be held in Uzbekistan. For fans, this is not only an unforgettable boxing festival, but also another great opportunity for our country in the international sports arena.
The final will take place in November, but the exact dates and information about the city will be confirmed in the near future. During this period, Uzbekistan will seriously prepare to host the world's most talented young and senior boxers.
Calendar's first steps
The 2026 World Cup will be held in the following order:
- The first is in April, Brazil: the opening stage of the tournament begins in South America.
- The second is in June, China: one of Asia's largest sports grounds will host the next stage.
- Final - November, Uzbekistan: The decisive stage among the strongest will be held in our country.
The U19 World Cup is also included in the schedule, but the venue has not yet been determined.
World Boxing - a federation opening a new stage in boxing
Founded in 2023, World Boxing began work to revive and clean up amateur boxing after a long crisis in the IBA. Headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, the organization quickly gained a strong reputation.
In 2025, the International Olympic Committee granted World Boxing temporary recognition status. This gave the federation the right to actively participate in the preparations for the 2028 Olympic Games.
Factors that strengthened the role of Uzbekistan
In less than two years, World Boxing has united more than 100 national federations. Uzbekistan is among them - this in itself is a vivid indicator of increasing confidence and status in the international arena, in the sports system.
It is noted that the changes that World Boxing has introduced to the system:
- increased the transparency of competitions;
- restored trust in the work of judges and coaches;
- created equal opportunities for athletes in the international arena;
- minimized technical and organizational disputes between countries.

Acceptance of the final stage is another huge step towards sports tourism, infrastructure, mass sports, and openness to the world. This decision will further strengthen the development of boxing in our country, the potential of our youth, and the country's authority in the international arena.
