Commemorative Coin to Be Issued for Maradona's Iconic Goal

Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the 1986 FIFA World Cup. This championship remains a source of pride and joy for football fans in Argentina.

The tournament is remembered in history as the stage where Diego Maradona's legendary star shone the brightest. It was during this championship that Maradona scored some of his most iconic goals, including the two goals against England.

One of those goals is recognized as the most beautiful goal in World Cup history, while the other is considered the most controversial. To commemorate this historic event, the Central Bank of Argentina has decided to issue a commemorative coin dedicated to Maradona's legendary goal.

This decision was announced on October 30, coinciding with Maradona's 65th birthday. The coins will be produced from 925 sterling silver, weighing 27 grams.
