Opta Supercomputer evaluated the winners of the World Championship

The Opta Analyst statistical portal conducted calculations on a supercomputer to determine the chances of world national teams winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup. According to the analyzed data, Spain's chances of winning were rated as the highest - 17%. This team, being the strongest candidate for the 2026 championship, occupies the top spot.

In second place is the French team (14.1%), and in third place is England (11.8%). These young and strong squads of Spain and France are considered favorites in 2026.

Interestingly, the 2022 World Cup winner, Argentina, is ranked only 4th (8.7%). This team, as always, was underrated in achieving all the expected results.

The Uzbekistan national team, having the opportunity to participate in the World Cup for the first time, was recognized by the Opta supercomputer as having a 0.2 percent chance. This team has equal chances with Tunisia, Scotland, South Africa, Australia, and Iran.

Twenty-six teams ready to compete for the World Cup actually have a chance of less than 1 percent, and their chances of winning are assessed as unrealistic for many.

The draw ceremony will take place on December 5, and the 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
