Barcelona targets Schlotterbeck

Defender Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund may not extend his contract with the club, according to Mundo Deportivo.

If the 26-year-old German player refuses to renew his deal, he could leave Dortmund for a reasonable fee next summer. Barcelona, and particularly the team's head coach, Hans-Dieter Flick, have expressed interest in the footballer.

Flick highly values Schlotterbeck's playing style. This season, the defender has participated in 13 matches across all competitions, delivering 2 assists.

Schlotterbeck's contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire in the summer of 2027. According to Transfermarkt, the player's market value is estimated at €40 million.
