Williams has been evaluated as a player capable of strengthening Real Madrid's attacking lineup. The club could acquire Nico Williams for €90 million, a sum specified in his current contract with Athletic Bilbao.

Additionally, the 23-year-old Williams was actively linked with Barcelona during the past summer, but ultimately, he decided to extend his contract with Athletic Bilbao until the middle of 2035.
