Heated discussions are underway in the football community ahead of the 2026 World Cup draw. Former Uzbekistan national team striker Alexander Heinrich also shared his thoughts on this process. In his opinion, participating in the World Cup itself is a great honor, and one should not avoid encountering strong opponents on this path.
According to Heinrich, if one of the most prestigious teams gets out of the first basket, it won't be a difficulty for our national team, but rather will provide great experience and emotions.
"Since we're heading to the World Cup, playing with grants like Spain, Brazil, or France brings unprecedented pleasure to both the player and the fan. Playing against a strong opponent always lifts your spirits," he said.
Regarding the second basket, Heinrich indicated Colombia or Senegal as suitable opponents. In his opinion, in terms of playing style, there is a high chance of getting points against these teams with the right approach.
From the fourth basket, he sees Haiti or Curaçao as the ideal option:
"We must defeat one of them and strengthen our chances of getting out of the group. There is no fraud in this regard - the goal is clear and realistic."
Interestingly, journalists asked Heinrich why he didn't want to play against his favorite player, Ronaldo's Portugal. He replied cheerfully:
"I'm a Real Madrid fan, and Ronaldo isn't playing in Madrid right now," the former striker replied with a laugh.
As a reminder, the draw for the World Cup will take place today at 10:00 PM Tashkent time.
According to Heinrich, our national team is ready for any situation, and fans are waiting for an exciting and confident evening.
