"Liverpool" head coach Arne Slot shared his thoughts on the 3-3 draw against "Leeds" in the 15th round of the English Premier League. The "Reds" took a 2-0 lead early in the second half thanks to two goals scored by Hugo Ekitike.
The home team responded with two goals in the 73rd and 75th minutes, but in the 80th minute, a goal by Dominik Szoboszlai put "Liverpool" ahead once again. Victory seemed imminent, but in the 96th minute, "Leeds" equalized with a goal from a set piece.
"I think we played well for most of the match and took a 2-0 lead. There were no issues until the referee awarded a penalty against us – something that can hardly be considered a scoring opportunity for 'Leeds.'
After that, the score became 2-1, and in an instant, it was 2-2. Then, we regained the lead and thought we'd secure the win, but the opponent capitalized on another set piece to score.
The players worked very hard, but once again, we conceded from a set piece – this is the 10th or 11th time it has happened this season. If we keep conceding so many goals, it's impossible to secure a spot at the top of the table," Slot told the BBC in an interview.
After 15 rounds, "Liverpool" stands in 8th place in the league table. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
