New Zealand Coach Says It Could Have Been Worse

The head coach of New Zealand's national football team, Darren Bazeley, shared his thoughts on the draw results for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The "All Whites" have been placed in Group G and will face Belgium, Egypt, and Iran.

"This is a tough group. They are all strong teams, but compared to some other groups, I think it could have been worse.

Now the work begins. We’ll start looking for suitable accommodation and training facilities," the coach said in an interview with the Friends of Football portal.

"There is a match window in March before the World Cup. Now that we know who we are playing against, we can fully begin our preparations."

New Zealand is currently ranked 89th in the FIFA rankings.
