Belous: Infantino Shows Favoritism Toward Trump

Yuri Belous, former vice president of Moscow's "Lokomotiv" football club, criticized FIFA President Gianni Infantino following the draw ceremony for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He shared his thoughts in an interview with "Evro-Futbol.Ru."

"We know that Infantino enjoys showing his favor towards Trump once again. This was evident during the draw ceremony when songs from Trump's election campaign were played.

That song is far from being considered the best work in the American repertoire. Additionally, the awarding of a prize to him confirms this.

Trump is an elderly man who accepts such gifts with great pleasure. That’s why people smiled and even laughed.

However, this certainly does not cancel out the fact that history will witness the first-ever World Cup with 48 participating teams. Now even small nations like Curaçao will have the chance to compete," Belous stated.

During the draw ceremony, FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented Donald Trump with a Peace Prize. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, taking place from June 11 to July 19.
