In the 15th round of the Turkish Super League, Istanbul Bashakshehir hosted Fenerbahçe at their home ground and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. After a fiercely contested match, the hosts' head coach, Nuri Shaxin, shared his thoughts on the match.
The specialist emphasized that the team played for victory, the game plan was fulfilled, but the main regret was that they couldn't score a goal in the decisive moment:
"Losing the victory today was very difficult for me. I was satisfied with my players, they showed exactly the game we wanted from the first minutes to the end. But in such games, it is not enough just to fight well - victory is also required. I have great respect for Fenerbahçe, but today we've entered the field with the intention of beating them. Our goal wasn't achieved, but we will continue to build a strong team.
Not losing composure on the offensive line is the biggest flaw today. If there was criticism, it would be directed precisely at this aspect," Shahin said.
Two representatives of the Uzbekistan national team - Eldor Shomurodov and Abbos Fayzullayev - were in the starting lineup. They also actively participated in the team's game and contributed to the dynamics of the match.
Although this draw seemed like two points lost for Bashakshehir, Nuri Shahin's determination and confidence in the team serve as an even more inspiring signal in the upcoming rounds. The fans, however, expect a cool, accurate, and attacking performance from the team in the upcoming matches.
