Safonov Proves High-Level Performance


Former Marseille and French national team goalkeeper Stéphane Porato has praised Matvei Safonov, the goalkeeper for Russia’s "PSJ" club, for his performance in the match against Rennes. He made these remarks in an exclusive interview with "Euro-Football.Ru."

"Safonov played well against Rennes. Big clubs need two strong goalkeepers.

He has proven that he is capable of performing at a high level," Porato said. During matchday 15 of the French Championship, Safonov made his first appearance this season.

The match between "PSJ" and Rennes ended in a convincing 5–0 victory for "PSJ." The club’s next match is scheduled against "Athletic" on December 10.

The next game in the UEFA Champions League group stage will begin at 23:00 Moscow time.
