Liverpool head coach Arne Slot emphasized that criticism from the team's striker Mohamed Salah about the club’s situation has not damaged his reputation. It should be recalled that Salah had criticized Slot’s coaching staff.
The Egyptian forward started three consecutive matches on the bench and was only brought on the field in one of them. Following this, Salah reportedly threatened to leave the club after the Africa Cup of Nations.
Slot, however, did not include him in the squad for the Champions League game against Inter. "I don’t believe my reputation has been damaged because of Salah’s comments.
This is not about my personal reputation but about how challenging it is for the team and the club. It’s tough to see how this affects the staff who are working diligently every single day to achieve results," said the coach in an interview with Fabrizio Romano.
In the 2025/2026 season, Salah has played 19 matches, scored 5 goals, and provided 3 assists. The 33-year-old forward's current contract with Liverpool is valid until June 30, 2027.
His market value is estimated at 45 million euros. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
