Real Madrid defender Álvaro Carreras received a red card in the final moments of the La Liga match against Celta on Sunday. The 22-year-old Spanish footballer was sent off in the 92nd minute for strongly protesting against the referee.
According to the publication *Tiempo de Juego*, Carreras directed the words "You are terrible" at the referee, which pushed the official's patience to its limit. As a result, the player now faces a two-match suspension for disrespecting the referee.
Prior to Carreras' dismissal, the "Royal Club" was already down to 10 players as Frangarsiya had received two yellow cards earlier in the second half. In the 93rd minute, Celta scored their second goal, securing a 2–0 victory.
