Henderson Dedicates His Goal to Late Diogo Jota

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson dedicated his goal against Leeds to the late striker Diogo Jota, who played for the Merseyside club. Henderson currently represents Brentford.

The team hosted Leeds at home as part of Matchweek 16 of the English Premier League (EPL). In the 70th minute of the match, Henderson put the hosts ahead in terms of score.

While celebrating his goal, he sat down and mimed playing with a joystick as if on a gaming console — a manner in which Jota used to celebrate his goals.

However, Henderson's goal was not the match-winner. Leeds equalized with eight minutes remaining in regular time. It is worth noting that Diogo Jota tragically passed away in a road accident in the summer of 2025.

His brother also lost his life in the accident. Reports stated that their vehicle ran off the road and caught fire in Spain.
