Atletico Madrid defender Clément Lenglet has been sidelined for an extended period due to a knee injury. The French footballer sustained the injury during the Copa del Rey Round of 32 match against Atlético Baleares (3-1) and was substituted as early as the 10th minute.
According to medical examination results, Lenglet has suffered a severe strain of the medial collateral ligament in his knee, without any additional complications. Spanish media reports that his recovery is expected to take at least two months.
As a result, he will miss a significant portion of the winter part of the season. This season, the 30-year-old Lenglet has participated in nine matches in La Liga, receiving one yellow card.
